Salute

I'm about to take a big step in my life.
The military gig is all I got
You guys know me well enough
So don't worry, I won't get shot
I'll try my best to come back and say hi
All of the same rules do apply
I'll treat you with that respect, that's no lie
I'll be talking to you, so don't be shy
I'll take my stance as a part of the military
I have to admit that taking this step is kinda scary
But I'll hold on the best I can
And I know some of you guys are not a fan
Making you upset is not the plan
I'm doing this to become a better man!
I'm crying these tears of joy so don't be afraid
I'm doing this so that you can still get paid
I'm gonna make this country a better place
And I'm gonna hold that promise even after I meet you face to face.
So now I'm taking a cover
This is something like no other.
And in about four hours, I'm about to be mute
So hear you guys go, a simple salute.
